Meet Viviana Vigil

Viv & Casey Feeling Christmassy during our Holiday Special

{Frank's Mom is a TV Host--she'll have you in stitches!}

Again back to my hosting days at Reelz, I also met Viviana Vigil. Viv, who, years later I would find out she likes to be called Veeve if you are shortening her name, sorry Veeve :)

Veeve moved from Los Angeles to New Mexico to host a show for REELZ. It was December and I remember going to lunch and bumping into Veeve and her mom at Dion's Pizza. Sitting at the booth next to her she immediately offered up some of the pizza they were sharing. And that's Veeve. Mi Casa Es Su Casa. She would give you the last dollar she had if it would help you. I've witnessed plenty acts of kindness from Veeve. As you read about her social work background--she still continues to help others on her own dime.

Anytime I'm in LA she is always offering up her house, telling me I'm welcome to stay with her-- to come and go as I please. Veev's always fun to be around. She's constantly cracking me up--she's a wealth of knowledge. And even though she has sisters--I like to think I'm included as one of her pesky little sisters.

Name: Viviana Vigil

Hometown: Whittier, CA

Current Job and city: Tv Host/producer at ok!tv (now Celebrity Page)   Los Angeles, CA

Jobdescription/duties: conduct interviews and produce packages for a daily entertainment news show

What time do you wake up/go to bed? Always different. I was up at 5:30 am today to track some VO's. Sometimes I don't get out of bed till 10 or 11am.

First job? Mason's Bakery in Uptown Whittier. (Unless you count babysitting)

First tv experience? The local news came to my school when I was in the 4th grade. They didn't interview me or anything. But I was so excited my family recorded it on VHS but only the back of my head was visible.

I auditioned for a "be a VJ" competition at a bilingual local Station in LA. I made it to the top 3, and then I lost

First job in television? LATV. The ex producer of the show that had the "be a VJ contest" liked me even though I lost the contest, and asked me to do a weekly segment called the KPASA report. I was a full time social worker with LA County at the time and squeezed the one a week report into my schedule.

What was your dream job when you were a kid? Pediatrician

What first got you interested in a career in tv/news/broadcast? Somehow I've always been comfortable with public speaking. I actually wanted to get into writing for the newspaper, but ended up going down the social work path. When I was waiting for my social work job to begin after college, I had some extra time and, just for fun I auditioned for the VJ contest.

Favorite interview? One where I connect with my interviewee.

Most awkward interview? Oh god, so many

Best advice you've been given? Be yourself, we don't want anyone else. That's why we hired you.

Worst advice someone gave you? Get plastic surgery.

Best part about your job? Dealing with people

Worst part about your job? Dealing with publicists and diva talent

Any mentors who guided you when you were first starting your career? Flávio Morales

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Gardening, playing with my dog and spending time with family.

Advice you would give to your younger self? Love yourself. Love your body. You're pretty cool.

Would you recommend your line of work to others? Absolutely. If they enjoy hard work.

If you could look into a crystal ball where do you see yourself in the next 20 years? Hosting my own show that deals with helping people.

Anything else you want to share? Thanks for giving me something to do at 6am while I'm waiting for my producers in NYC to send more vo tracks.
